Cookie Policy

EU and UK rules treat analytics, advertising, and most tracking cookies as requiring consent. Award Party asks before loading PostHog analytics and session replay. Sign-in, language, security, and the cookie that stores your analytics choice stay on either way because the product cannot run without them.

Clerk sets session cookies so you stay signed in. Cloudflare Turnstile runs on sign-in and sign-up to block bots. NEXT_LOCALE remembers your language. ap_analytics_consent stores Accept analytics or Essential cookies only so the banner does not return on every visit.

On join-related routes we may set ap_visitor_id (httpOnly, first-party, up to one year) to distinguish unique attempts to join a full free party. We do not use it for ads.

If you choose Accept analytics, we load PostHog in your browser. PostHog may set its own cookies, record product events, identify your account, and record a masked session replay. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

If you have accepted analytics and then open a tagged announcement email, we may set ap_announcement_campaign (httpOnly, first-party, 30 days) so we can see whether that email led to a party being created. We do not set this cookie when analytics is rejected or unset.

Red-carpet YouTube and Vimeo players are not loaded until you choose Load video. YouTube uses youtube-nocookie.com until you play. Vimeo is requested with do-not-track. Clicking Load video sends data to that provider under their terms.
