Client entertainment

A client appreciation idea that reaches your whole client list

Dinners and box seats are great for the few people who can make it. An Oscars pool gives every client a reason to hear from you for weeks, and a company pool brings them back at every award show for a year.

Most client events reach very few people

A dinner, a suite, or a golf day works for the handful of people who can attend. Everyone else on the account hears about it later, if at all. The people who do most of the day to day work rarely make the guest list, and the budget goes to one evening that's over in three hours.

What an Oscars pool does differently

An Oscars pool goes to everyone at once. You send one link, clients fill out a ballot on their phone in a few minutes, and they stay in it until the last envelope opens. The invite is easy to pass along, so it can travel from one contact to their whole team. On Oscar night, every client is watching the same leaderboard as your own team.

Why it fits ad tech and media sales teams

If you sell to ad agencies, your clients already follow what's on TV and which spots run during the big broadcasts. The Oscars are one of the biggest TV nights of the year, so talking about them is close to talking shop. A pool gives sales and client teams a friendly reason to check in during February and March that isn't another lunch request.

A reason to check in all year

A company pool covers every award show on Award Party for 12 months. The Golden Globes and Critics Choice open the season, the Grammys and the Oscars follow, and the Emmys come later in the year. Each show gets its own party, so your clients get a fresh leaderboard and you get a fresh reason to reach out.

A real example

Last Oscars season, an ad tech company ran an Oscars pool on Award Party for its agency clients. 119 people joined from 39 companies, and 115 of them made their picks before the show.

How to run it

Send the invite after the nominations come out, two to four weeks before the Oscars on Sunday, March 14, 2027. Send a reminder a few days before picks lock. On the night, share the leaderboard in a client channel or an email. The day after, send the recap and congratulate the winner by name.

Separate pools for separate groups

Our largest package allows more than one party per show. Run one for agency clients and one for brand clients, or keep your own team in a separate pool so clients have the leaderboard to themselves.

Keep it simple and fair

There's no betting and no buy-in, so anyone can play. If you want a prize, keep it modest and check your clients' gift policies first. Some agencies limit what their people can accept, and a trophy and bragging rights usually go further than a gift card anyway.

Client pool questions

What makes a good client entertainment idea?▾

One that people can join wherever they are, that takes very little of their time, and that gives you a natural reason to follow up. An Oscars pool takes a few minutes to join, runs for weeks, and ends with a leaderboard everyone sees.

When should we send the invite?▾

After the nominations are announced and two to four weeks before the Oscars on Sunday, March 14, 2027. That gives people time to make picks and pass the link to their teams.

Does the pool end after the Oscars?▾

No. The Oscars on Sunday, March 14, 2027 are the headline, but a company pool covers every award show on Award Party for 12 months, with a party for each show.

Can clients invite their coworkers?▾

Yes. The invite is a single link, so clients can share it with their teammates and everyone lands in the same pool.
